Roxy (2)

December 8, 2012

Roxy came to us on 11/25 after being at the vets in a crate for almost 3 weeks.

We took her on a nice long walk with our resident boxer and she was extremely excited to be free!!

She has settled in really nicely here, she is working hard to be the alpha dog but our resident male is letting her know that's not happening. She listens to commands really well and redirects nicely in the house. She has had no accidents, she doesn't bark and LOVES to go for rides!! We have 3 kids in the home ages 6-17 and she is a saint with all of them.

We are working on finding a high value treat that she will like when we go for walks. She has a very high prey drive and it takes a lot to redirect if she sees another dog or small animal. She's little but she is super strong!

She has had some free roam and has had no issues, if I have had to crate her for a short time she goes in nicely with no issues and lies right down. She is an absolute GEM!!

Meet Roxy, our newest girl. She's 7 years old and very sweet!  She's being surrendered as her owner does not have enough time for her. She is healthy and in great shape. She does have a small wart on her hind leg that we will be having removed. Roxy is okay around cats. She's not aggressive with them but she definitely tries to play with them. She's not good with other female dogs but seems okay with most male dogs she meets. She knows her basic commands. She'll need a little help with leash walking as she does like to pull. She has been around children and is fine with them but since we don't have definite knowledge of her history with kids, we'll be looking to place her in a home with kids10+.  Please check back for updates as we secure a foster home for this pretty lady!
