Cassius

September 8, 2012

Cassius has settled in quite well with his new family.  He LOVES his fur sister although he wants to play with her all the time and she doesn’t always want to play (she’s a little bit older).  We do have a friend with a mix breed next door and Cassius and she play ALL the time and Cassius loves loves loves to play.   He’s doing good with his basic commands and he has very nice manners.  We will be taking him to a training class to work on some other commands and get some other dog socialization in.   He loves his daily walks and just to be with us.   We are still working on his crate training.  The little guy can break out of anything!   We left him alone for 15 minutes.  Have no idea how he got out of his crate.  He did not do any damage in the house.  He was waiting for us at the front door when we returned.  We will continue working on crate training with him.  He does however hang out and sleep in his crate when we are in the house.   We just love him so much and are so happy that we are adopting him.  He’s a wonderful addition to our family!

Meet Cassius! This gorgeous boy is 8 months old and coming into the program as the situation in his current home has changed and his  family no longer has the time to spend with him.  Cassius is your typical full of energy Boxer boy that just wants to play..play...play!  He is full of wiggles and sweeter than sugar!   Due to the long days he has spent alone, Cassius did not get much exercise and he has developed separation anxiety, so he will need a home where someone is home more often than not and a family that is active and able to provide him with the mental and physical stimulation a young Boxer needs.  Cassius new home  must be willing to work with him on his separation anxiety and proper introductions to the crate, as he is not comfortable in the crate.   Cassius is very smart!  He walks well on a leash for a young Boxer and knows some basic commands; he is ready and eager to learn! so his new home will need to attend a basic obedience class to help him develop into the well manned boy we know he can be.  He lived with a  smaller dog in his prior home along with a cat, and he was great with both of them.  Please check back soon as we get to know this handsome boy in his foster home.
