Meet Tyson! This handsome boy is 5 year’s old, super sweet and coming into the program because his current owner is moving and they cannot take him with them. He is occasionally walked and walks well on leash, but is VERY STRONG, weighing in around 75-80lbs. He is getting most of his exercise in the back yard. He knows some basic commands, but his new home will need to take him to a basic obedience class for a refresher course and for bonding. Tyson was excited to meet our volunteer, lots of wiggles and was very respectful. He is currently living with a 10 y/o male lab and does well with him, but he has not been well socialized with other dogs. He did meet our volunteer’s dog and was excited at first, but showed no interest once he calmed down. He is not currently neutered, but the rescue will take care of that once he settles into his new home. At this time, we feel he would do best as an only where he can get the attention and exercise that he needs. Tyson is not currently crated, he is gated in a few rooms when left alone and is not destructive. He does have a prey drive and will chase cats and critters, so no kitties or smaller critters for this boy. He has been around children 11+ and has been great with them. Tyson would do best with someone that is home more often than not, as he is currently left for 8 hours most days with no breaks. He is used to a fenced in yard, so he would love a fence at his new home. He would also love an active family, so he can get the daily walks that is needed. He is a big boy that Loves car rides. Tyson will make a wonderful companion to any home. If you are interested I this boy, please fill out an adoption application on our site.
